Ukraine is testing an unmanned ground robot D-21-11 for use at the frontline. This was announced by Ukrainian Digital Transformation Minister Mykhaylo Fedorov on 5 January.
The D-21-11 is a universal Ukrainian robot, which was created by members of the Brave1 defence cluster. The machine is equipped with an automatic turret and can perform combat tasks. For example, to conduct reconnaissance, storm or defend positions," the minister wrote.
The platform can also be used to deliver ammunition or provisions for fighters to hot spots on the front line. The combat part of the robot is fully removable.
Fedorov said that the combat part of the robot has already been successfully tested and has positive feedback from the military.
The developers are planning to integrate NATO weapons into the robot and strengthen its resistance to enemy electronic warfare. The team is now working on scaling up production.
