Ukraine's border with Belarus and Russia to be widened and mined

The border zone, a strip of land along the Ukrainian border, will be expanded by two kilometres. Moreover, it will be completely mined, Cabinet of Ministers minister Oleh Nemchynov said on Telegram .

It will practically be a mined area," he stressed.

He said that the day before the Rada voted for such changes. In particular, MPs approved the draft law No7475 "On introducing amendments to some legislative acts on the protection of the state border".

Nemchynov also noted that the draft law envisioned the involvement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard and police in the protection of the Ukrainian state border.
