PACE recognised the Holodomor of 1932-33 years as genocide of the Ukrainian people


The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has recognised the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
The decision was supported by 73 MEPs. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the decision a restoration of historical justice in social network X.
I am grateful to the PACE for recognising the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people. Restoring historical justice and honouring the memory of Holodomor victims sends a clear message: fair punishment for all past and present crimes of Moscow is inevitable," Zelensky wrote.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also expressed gratitude to PACE. He stressed the importance of the fact that the PACE called on all parliaments of the Council of Europe member states and other parliaments to follow this example.
The PACE decision was supported by 73 participants in the voting, with one vote against.
I am grateful to PARЄ for recognising the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people. The restoration of historical justice and the commemoration of the victims of the Holodomor sends a clear message: just punishment for all past and present atrocities of Moscow is imminent.
