According to the newspaper, the initiator of the increase in aid was Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.

The head of the Defence Ministry stated the need for additional funds for Ukraine during the budget negotiations," the newspaper said.

It is noted that the budget committee should make a decision on the increase in aid on 13 November.

At the same time, he stressed that if at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation it was mainly about situational support, now we are planning for the long term.

He added that "the fight for freedom has no expiry date.
