Germany transfers two more Patriot SAM launchers to Ukraine

This is stated in a report of the German Federal Government.

It is reported that the funding for the security capacity-building initiative amounts to 5.4bn euros for 2023 (after 2bn euros for 2022) and additional commitment authorisations in subsequent years in the amount of 10.5bn euros.

These funds are to be used primarily for military assistance to Ukraine," the statement said.

The military support package for Ukraine includes:

• 28 tracked all-terrain vehicles Bandvagn 206 (BV206)
• 10 LEOPARD 1 A5 main battle tanks
• 138 MG3s for LEOPARD 2, MARDER and DACHS
• ammunition for LEOPARD 1
• 18 LEOPARD 2 A 6 main battle tanks with ammunition (German share in a joint project with other LEOPARD 2 operators)
• 40 MARDER infantry fighting vehicles with ammunition (from Bundeswehr and industry depots)
• 50 MRAP DINGO vehicles
• 54 M113 armoured personnel carriers with 2 machine guns* each (Danish systems, modernisation financed by Germany)
• Spare parts for LEOPARD 2 and MARDER
