Russia is preparing for an armed conflict with NATO countries. A direct clash could take place as early as 2026. Business Insider writes about this with reference to information received from German intelligence services.

Russia is preparing for a large-scale conflict with the West, which is indicated by the reorganisation of the Russian army, movement of troops and deployment of missiles in the west of the country, as well as the build-up of Russian arms production, - stated in the message.

It is noted that without slowing down in the arms race, Russia will double its military power in the next five years compared to today, especially in the field of conventional weapons.

Specialists believe that Russia's likely target will be the Baltic States or Finland.

Business Insider writes that NATO sees such a threat as real and is preparing for a possible confrontation with Putin's troops. At the same time, they expect that a bloody war can be avoided.
