German Foreign Minister: Russia poses a threat to all countries in the Baltic region

The Russian threat in the Baltic Sea region continues to grow.
Russia poses a threat to all countries of the Baltic region, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful believes. He said this in an interview with Welt am Sonntag, ZDF reported .
He noted that there are suspicions about acts of sabotage committed by the Russian shadow fleet, aimed at cables and communication lines in the Baltic Sea.
We, as neighbouring states as well as NATO and EU members, are actively countering hybrid threats, including additional patrols. In the Baltic Sea region, Russia poses a threat to all of us," the minister said.
Wadeful emphasised that the Russian threat has become more serious in recent months, with European countries concerned about incidents of damaged cables, signal violations and suspicious vessels.
He described Russia's "shadow fleet" as an "extremely serious threat" to the security of the region and called on the EU to impose new sanctions against these vessels.
This would also help Ukraine, as the 'shadow fleet' makes daily deliveries of oil that Russia sells to circumvent sanctions," Wadeful added.
