The saboteurs tried to block the movement of echelons with heavy weapons and ammunition for the AFU.

The SBU detained three FSB saboteurs as a result of special operations in Kharkiv and Rivne regions. The attackers set fire to relay cabinets on railway tracks in both regions. This was reported by the SBU on 12 July.

This way they hoped to block the movement of echelons with heavy weapons and ammunition of the AFU towards the front.

To commit the offences, the saboteurs used flammable mixtures, which they had prepared in advance according to the instructions of the Russian security service.

In Kharkiv, an enemy saboteur who tried to destroy a relay cabinet of a railway traffic light at one of the key crossings in the region has been caught red-handed.

According to the SBU counterintelligence service, the attacker turned out to be a repeat offender from Odessa who had previously served a sentence for robbery and attempted premeditated murder.

After being remotely recruited by the Russian intelligence service, the suspect arrived in Kharkiv Region to commit sabotage.

Two other detainees turned out to be unemployed residents of Rivne, who were remotely recruited by the FSB for subversive activities.

The attackers worked in "tandem". One of them set fire to a relay cabinet that controlled the operation of semaphores on one of the main railway lines in the western region of Ukraine. Another person filmed the sabotage on his own phone camera to send it for a "report" to the FSB," the SBU said.

During the searches, mobile phones with evidence of criminal actions were seized from the detainees.

The SBU investigators informed the detainees of suspicion under part 2 of article 113 of the Criminal Code (sabotage committed under martial law).

The attackers are in custody, they face life imprisonment.
