Fashion nostalgia: accessories from the 2000s are back on trend again

From bow hairpins to luscious lip glosses, items from Millennials' teenage years are winning hearts again.
As reported by Harper's Bazaar India, the trend of nostalgic accessories and clothes from the 90s and early 2000s is back in fashion, but with a new meaning - now they are no longer just things, but carriers of memories and personality.
The trends we're reaching for again:
Low-slung jeans
After years of "high waist" domination, the iconic jeans from the 2000s are back in vogue. Stylists and stars like Bella Hadid or Dua Lipa wear them with confidence, though not without a touch of irony - many millennials associate them with the unhealthy beauty standards of those days.
Glitter and rhinestones
T-shirts with sequins, embroidered jeans and glittery sunglasses are back in the spotlight. Designers are using crystals in new collections, emphasising the theatricality and sparkle.

Baguette bags
Miniature handbags are back in the collections of fashion houses. They were worn then, but they are still relevant now as a striking accent - comfortable, recognisable and drenched in nostalgia.
Phone and bag charms
Cute, colourful, personalised - they're back in fashion. Figurines in the form of zodiac signs, initials, hearts or favourite food become a way of self-expression and a "visual signature" of the owner.

Beaded jewellery
Bracelets and necklaces with letters, shells, symbols and coloured beads - a return to DIY culture and the desire to wear something that truly reflects mood and character.
Stationery belts
Thick, with massive buckles, logos and colourful details - the return of belts in looks speaks to the tiredness of minimalism. Millennials remember: a belt can be not only functional, but also the main accent of a look.

Butterfly pins and clips
Pastel, crystal, pearl or patterned - they're back in style. They are worn in low ponytails, in chaotic bunches or simply adorn the strands near the face. An easy way to add playfulness and tenderness to your look.

Millennials are returning to these items not just out of fashion, but because they represent joy, ease and freedom. It's a way to connect past and present, to turn memories into part of today's self.
So maybe it's time to open up that old box of accessories, breathe in the scent of childhood and allow yourself a little more playfulness in your everyday life. Because nostalgia is no longer a weakness, but a style.
