EU says in which borders Ukraine can join the EU

Ukraine is ready to start negotiations on joining the EU as early as at the end of June.
Ukraine will independently decide within which borders it can join the European Union, EU ambassador Katarina Maternova has said in an interview with 1+1. The EU ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, said this in an interview with 1+1.
She pointed out that the EU supported President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Formula for Peace and would facilitate its implementation at the diplomatic level.
I would not like to speculate and guess about the boundaries, because this should first of all be Ukraine's decision. We know about President Zelensky's Formula for Peace, which he has now proposed, and we will assist him in this. And we understand that it will work only when there is sufficient defence support," Maternova said.
Earlier, the ambassador said that negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU might start as early as in June. At the same time, the Commonwealth should consider Moldova's application.
In March 2023, it was reported that Ukraine had already fulfilled 72 per cent of all obligations under the association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. on 8 November 2023, the European Commission recommended starting accession negotiations between Ukraine and Moldova. on 14 December, the European Council supported the start of negotiations on Ukraine's EU membership by 26 votes.
We would like to point out that starting from June, Ukraine and the EU will start the process of planning the adaptation of the Ukrainian legislation to the European one.
