Estonian General Staff declared a "stalemate situation" on the frontline

In a day at the front there are about 50 combat encounters with the enemy.

The Estonian General Staff has said that the situation on the frontline in Ukraine is complicated and resembles a "stalemate situation". This was stated by Colonel Tarmo Kundla at a briefing in the country's Defence Ministry, ERR reported.

He pointed out that the forces on the collision line are "approximately equal" and there are fights "for exhaustion".

There is a stalemate situation on the front line and in the foreseeable future neither side will be able to achieve decisive success, as the forces of both sides are roughly equal," Kundla said.

He pointed out that it is extremely difficult to find out who has the initiative on the front at this time.

And who will seize the initiative now will very much depend on how successful Russia's offensive on Avdeevka will be and how the Ukrainian offensive in the south will develop," the officer added.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian General Staff reported 47 military clashes on the front over the day.

In total, the enemy launched six missile and eight air strikes and carried out 27 shellings from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and populated areas. The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult," the military pointed out.

The AFU reported that in Kupyansk and Limansk directions the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions, continued regrouping troops.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy tried to restore the lost position in the Andriyivka area and conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Stepnoye, Avdeevka and Pervomayskoye in Donetsk region. The defence forces repelled 13 enemy attacks.

On the Maryinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Maryinka and Novomikhailivka in Donetsk region, where the defenders repelled 19 enemy attacks.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled all enemy attacks near Vodyanoye, Zolotoy Niva and Staromayorskoye in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhya direction the invaders tried to restore the lost position north-west of Verbovoye in Zaporizhzhya region, but had no success.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction.
