The international cyber community has dealt a crushing blow to global cybercrime.

Investigators of the National Police of Ukraine have joined the international special operation EndGame, hacker services of global cybercrime organisations have been blocked. This was reported by the National Police on 30 May.

With the direct participation of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, the international cyber community has dealt a crushing blow to the world cybercrime, which with the help of extortion viruses stole sensitive data with subsequent encryption and blackmail victims with the disclosure of these data in case of non-payment of ransom, - said the police.

In the course of joint activities of the National Police, Office of the Prosecutor General, SBU, law enforcement agencies of the USA, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Denmark and Germany, a large-scale operation was carried out to stop the functioning of the infrastructure of criminal services "Pikabot", "IcedID", "AlexCrypt", "System BC", "Bumblebee", "Smokeloader".

These services were in the arsenal of such Russian cybercriminal organisations as BlackBasta, Revil and Conti and helped them attack dozens of Western companies, including medical institutions, and embezzle more than ten million dollars.

Law enforcers conducted a number of searches in Ukraine at the residences of the developers, administrators and organisers of Pikabot, IcedID and AlexCrypt.

The police identified the roles of each person involved, blocked server equipment, seized mobile phones and computer equipment.

As part of the cyber operation EndGame law enforcers deleted and arrested 91 servers, blocked more than 1,000 domains associated with criminal activity.

Earlier Socialportal reported that hackers of the Main Directorate of intelligence hacked the servers of the Russian Defence Ministry and gained access to classified information and documents.

A large amount of data has been collected, which will help in identifying the organisers and key participants of global hacker groups.
