Employment Service helps people with disabilities and employers


The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated annually on 3 December. People with disabilities need to realise their right to work. This opportunity is provided to them by the employment service.
Kyiv city employment centre offered 859 vacancies for people with disabilities as of the end of November. This is reported by the Kyiv City Employment Centre.
Among others, these vacancies are:
- accountants (salary - up to 30 thousand UAH),
- cashiers of the sales floor (up to 12 thousand UAH),
- postal operators (up to 14 thousand UAH),
- engineers of various directions (up to UAH 110 thousand),
- managers (up to UAH 67 thousand),
- economists (up to UAH 17 thousand),
- interpreters (up to UAH 20 thousand),
- electromechanics (up to UAH 23 thousand),
- drivers (up to 24 thousand UAH),
- sellers of food products (up to UAH 18 thousand),
- hairdressers (up to UAH 15 thousand),
- turners (up to UAH 14 thousand),
- installers of radio-electronic equipment (up to 15 thousand UAH).
Kyiv City Employment Centre offers people with disabilities to get a voucher for training and master a new profession or improve their skills.
People with disabilities who want to create or develop their own business can join the government grant programme "Own Business".
The government reimburses employers who hire people with disabilities of groups I and II and adapt their workplaces to their needs.

Compensation of actual expenses is provided in the amount not exceeding 15 times the minimum wage established by law as of 1 January of the calendar year (now - 100.5 thousand UAH):
- for people with disabilities of group I and up to 10 times the minimum wage (UAH 67 thousand)
- for arrangement of workplaces for people with disabilities of group II.
To receive compensation, the employer submits an application for reimbursement of expenses to the employment centre at the place of its business activity within 90 days.
Since the beginning of 2023, 1528 citizens with disabilities have used the services of Kyiv employment service. Of them:
- 204 got a job with the assistance of the capital's employment service;
- 10 underwent vocational training; 12 were involved in public works and other temporary jobs;
- 1287 received vocational guidance services;
- 18 received training vouchers.
