Expert tells when AFU will launch counter-offensive

At the end of March, Ukrainian forces may move to active operations on the front.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces may launch counteroffensives on the front already in April this year, after Easter, military expert and colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Roman Svitan said, the UNIAN news agency has said.

I think that our counter-offensive actions will already start in April. Most likely, it is even better to start them, probably, after the middle of April. It is necessary to be tied to Easter. Easter somehow cuts off a certain period of cold weather and the dry period, the spring period, is included. That is, we have Easter somewhere around April 16, but depending on the weather, our counteroffensive can be in the second decade of April, - the expert believes.

Roman Svitan stressed that weather conditions will be important for the attack.

It is better to launch an offensive when the weather is dry, because the black earth in the Donbas is such that "a tank can get stuck in the mud up to the turret". The same applies to the Azov steppes," he said.

Meanwhile, Western equipment is already beginning to arrive in Ukraine and will be used by Ukrainian troops to launch attacks. Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers have also undergone/are completing training and will take part in battles using Western weaponry.
