Dozens of houses, cars damaged and injured: Russian Federation hits Nikolaev


Late in the evening of 2 August, Russian forces launched a missile strike on a residential area of Mykolaiv.
According to the head of the regional military administration, Vitaliy Kim, and the State Service for Emergency Situations, the attack took place around 22:01. A few minutes before the strike, the AFU Air Force recorded in the sky above the Black Sea a Tu-22M3 bomber, a carrier of supersonic X-22 missiles, one of which was directed towards the city.
As a result of the shelling, three private houses were destroyed, another 23 private and 12 apartment buildings were damaged. Six cars, a building materials shop and a post office were also destroyed or damaged. Fires broke out in the city, the fire area reached 1,500 square metres. The State Emergency Situations Service officers promptly extinguished the fire, debris removal is continuing at the site.
Seven people suffered from the missile attack. Three men - 32, 57 and 74 years old - were hospitalised in a state of medium severity. Four more residents were treated on the spot, their condition did not require hospitalisation.
All emergency services were involved in the aftermath: rescuers, medics, police and sappers. The victims were provided with psychological assistance by specialists of the State Emergency Situations Service. Volunteers of the Rapid Response Unit of the Red Cross of Ukraine also joined the work at the site of the tragedy.
In addition, during the 2nd and 3rd of August, FPV drone attacks on Kutsurubska community were recorded in Mykolaiv district. According to Vitaliy Kim, there were no casualties in these cases.
