The Republican expressed doubts about the strength of relations between Moscow and Beijing, calling their alliance "unnatural."
US President Donald Trump said that his country "seeks to find common ground" with Chinese President Xi Jinping and improve trade relations with Russia. About this writes Sky News.
At the same time, he said that the day before he had a "wonderful conversation" with the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin and the latter promised Trump not to destroy the Ukrainian energy sector.
Trump also pointed out that ties between China and Russian Federation are growing and said he would not want them to deepen.
Obama really forced them to be together because of bad energy policy. He forced them into a marriage that would never have happened, it wasn't natural. They are probably friendly now, but we're going to be friendly with both of them. China really needs us in terms of trade," Trump said.
Trump also stated his intention to improve trade relations with Russia.
"We don't have a lot of trade with Russia, and they would like to, and we would like to as well. They have some very valuable things for us, including very large forms of rare earth elements," Trump said.
