Almost 50 per cent of all Ukrainian refugees living in Denmark do not want to return home, even if the war in Ukraine ends.

Ukrainian refugees who are currently living on the territory of Denmark will have to return home after the end of the war. This was stated by Danish Immigration and Integration Minister Kore Dubvad on 22 December, the Ritzau news agency reported.

He stressed that the country's authorities considered the stay of Ukrainian refugees in the country as temporary, and it did not matter where they came from and from what regions.

The minister explained that the Ukrainian authorities had repeatedly voiced their desire to return home those citizens who had left Ukraine because of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

And we should respect this," Dubvad emphasised.

At the same time, Dubvad added that Ukrainians are "culturally closer" to Danes than people from the Middle East.

As of today, there are about 30 thousand Ukrainian refugees living in Denmark. According to the University of Copenhagen, cited by the Danish TV channel DR K, almost 50 per cent of all Ukrainian refugees living in Denmark do not want to return home even if the war in Ukraine ends.
