Danilov talks about the start of the counter-offensive

Ukraine is stockpiling equipment and finishing training its personnel.

Ukraine is ready to launch a counter-offensive on the front and it could start at any time. Perhaps tomorrow or the day after tomorrow or in a week. This was stated by the head of the National Security and Defence Council, Oleksiy Danilov, BBC reports.

We are always ready. Just as we are ready to defend our country at any time. And it is not a matter of time," said Danilov.

He noted that it is a "historic opportunity", so Kiev approaches this step very deliberately, calculating each step. At the same time, Danilov did not name specific dates for a possible counteroffensive, but stressed that the country intends to reach the 1991 borders.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces will launch an offensive when their commanders calculate that we can get the best result at this stage of the war," he said.

At the same time, he denied claims that the Ukrainian army has allegedly already gone on the offensive.

Danilov also pointed out that the commander-in-chief had published a relevant video the day before with the caption "It's time to get our own back". In it, the fighters read a prayer and prepare for battle.

We should add that the Office of the President has repeatedly pointed out that there are no borders on 24 February, only the 1991 borders of Ukraine, which are recognised by the whole world and to which Ukrainian troops should withdraw.
