Russia's continuous attacks on Ukraine are unacceptable. The deliberate attack on civilians or civilian objects is equated with war crimes and serious violations of international law," she wrote on social network X.

European Union ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maternova said that Ukraine needs more support and the Russian Federation needs to be held accountable.

Today Ukraine became the victim of another brutal attack by the Russian Federation. The capital Kiev, Kharkiv - under fire from Russian missiles and drones. Civilians have been killed and wounded, infrastructure has been destroyed. Ukraine needs more support to save lives. The Russian Federation will be held accountable," wrote the EU representative in X.

The Russians have brought much death and destruction to Ukraine this festive season with another massive missile strike on civilians this morning. When will they realise that this only strengthens Ukrainians' resolve to defend their land and freedom? The UK stands by Ukraine," the ambassador wrote.

UN humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown condemned another Russian attack and stressed that the strikes and shelling of civilians and infrastructure is a violation of international humanitarian law.

On behalf of the humanitarian community, I reaffirm our commitment to continue to support the people of Ukraine suffering from the devastation caused by the invasion of the Russian Federation... are prohibited by international humanitarian law," Interfax-Ukraine news agency quoted Brown as saying.
