China reacts to Russian drones flying into Poland

During Russia's attack on Ukraine on the night of 10 September, drones flew into Poland.
China believes that the incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace is a "side effect of the crisis in Ukraine" and calls on all sides to remain calm. Geng Shuang, China's deputy permanent representative to the UN, said this at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
According to Shuang, disputes between countries should be resolved through dialogue and consultation to prevent the conflict from escalating.
Any misunderstanding or erroneous judgement will deepen the trust deficit. Any confrontational rhetoric can provoke escalation. Any military confrontation is capable of triggering wider unrest," he emphasised.
China's Deputy Permanent Representative said that although there is "some positive momentum" in the dialogue and negotiations, the positions of the sides remain "very distant" on key issues. Shuang called to adhere to three principles: not to allow the conflict to spread beyond Ukraine, not to resort to escalation and to promote de-escalation of the situation.
Recall, on the night of 10 September Russian drones violated Polish airspace. Polish aviation used weapons to shoot them down for the first time. As a result, the wreckage of 16 drones was found, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the country's airspace had been violated at least 19 times.
