Former adviser to Putin said what would stop the aggression of the Russian Federation

Putin was ready for sanctions in connection with the war against Ukraine. Imperial ambitions are more important for him than the well-being of Russians. However, a real embargo on Russian energy resources could stop the aggression.
Andrei Illarionov, former chief economic adviser to Vladimir Putin, said this in an interview with the BBC .
According to him, Putin could prepare for the sanctions that the West is now introducing against Russia. And his imperial ambitions are much more important than the well-being of the citizens of the Russian Federation.
If Western countries try to impose a real embargo on the export of oil and gas from Russia ... I would bet that within a month or two, Russian military operations in Ukraine will probably be stopped. This is one of the very effective tools that Western countries still have,” Illarionov emphasized.
Illarionov, who now lives in the US, said a change of government was inevitable because "with the current political regime, a positive future for Russia is absolutely impossible."
