Ukraine is making great efforts to come to the end of the war.

There is real progress in this process, but it is still too early to talk about fast peace.

This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Kyrylo Budanov, during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Ukrinform reported.

We are moving forward. I can't say that tomorrow we will definitely have peace - if someone promises such a thing, it is not true. But we are making great efforts to come to it," Budanov stressed.

According to him, efforts to find ways to end the war are being made by both the Ukrainian side and the United States of America. "Whether someone likes it or not, there is movement, and it is real. We are really moving forward," the head of the Office of the President noted.

At the same time, he emphasised that the success of the talks would largely depend on the position of the Russian Federation.

You understand who we are dealing with," he added.

Budanov noted that Ukraine is directly involved in the negotiation process, so it is incorrect to say that "Ukraine should have a place at the negotiating table".

We are in the negotiation process, understand this correctly. This process, thank God, is not going on without us," he said.

Budanov thanked the United States, European countries and Canada for their years of support for Ukraine and emphasised that it remains critical even now.

Without your participation, our position will weaken, and with a weakened position it will be quite problematic to negotiate," he warned.

Speaking about the key conditions for the future peace, the OP head stressed that Ukraine needed a just peace, security guarantees and a clear reconstruction plan. At the same time, he added that "internal strife will not help this".

Let us accumulate efforts, mobilise and see this through to the end. We need a just peace - that's right. We need security guarantees. We need a plan for the restoration and revival of Ukraine. But internal conflicts will not help," Budanov concluded.
