One step should be to eliminate energy dependence on Russia.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wrote a column published in The Telegraph in which he outlined his vision of steps to be taken to reduce Russia's influence on the world economy. The plan consists of five steps.

The first step is urgent support for winter time where it is needed - both in Ukraine and citizens of other countries that are in trouble because of super-high energy prices

Secondly, writes Sunak, the world should not allow Russia to blackmail everyone on the issue of food security.

I support the UN Secretary General in saying that the grain ships should move through the Black Sea, and call on all those countries that can produce more food or release stocks to do so to help increase supplies.

He calls the third step the elimination of energy dependence on countries such as Russia, and the fourth talks about promoting free markets and an open world economy.

Fifth, Rishi Sunak called for countering the pull of poorer countries into "credit traps" and for tackling the causes of accelerating inflation.
