The Russian Wagner PMC began to recruit new mercenaries to send them to war against Ukraine.

British intelligence reports that the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is hiring prisoners with serious illnesses. They will build the "Wagner Line", the scouts believe .

At the same time, British military intelligence draws attention to the statement of Yevgeny Prigozhin, which appeared on the Internet on October 27, in which he admits that the recruitment rules for Wagner PMCs have been weakened: now prisoners from Russian prisons with serious diseases, including HIV and hepatitis C.

Scouts note that the role of the Wagner PMC has changed significantly since the beginning of the war. In previous conflicts in which the PMC has been involved, it has maintained relatively high personnel standards, recruiting mostly former professional Russian military personnel.

The recruitment of prisoners with serious health problems, according to intelligence, means a new approach, in which quantity, not quality, comes first.

The publication writes: “Prigozhin recently discussed plans to create a 200-kilometer defensive “Wagner Line” in eastern Ukraine, which requires significant human resources. There is a very real possibility that recruits recruited from among the prisoners will begin their careers in PMCs building defensive structures.”
