Spring 2025: how to wear blusher to look flawless
06:00, 01.05.2025

Blush is making a comeback - and changing everything 🌟

Every few years, there's a new star in makeup. In the 90s it was lip glosses, in the 2010s it was flawless eyebrows. And now it's the turn of blush: it has become the main accent of spring make-up 2025.

"Where blush is applied can completely change a look," explains makeup artist and Make Up For Ever teacher Eddie Douyos. - "Blush can create a subtle blush or a sculpted effect. It all depends on where you apply them."

Where to apply blush? 🎯

Want to look like a supermodel? Follow Naomi Campbell's example of applying blush high on the cheekbones to accentuate facial features. And if you're dreaming of a TikTok doll look (#dollmakeup), apply blush directly to the apples of your cheeks for a youthful, fresh look.

There is also a winter trend - "I'm Cold": blush on the nose and cheekbones imitates frosty cold. And last summer we were captivated by "sunset" make-up - a soft transition from pink to orange with golden accents.

New season - new shades 🎨

You can't go without blush this spring! And there's plenty to choose from: the palette has been enriched not only with pink and red tones. Douyos advises not to be afraid of bright colours:

"Orange or even purple blush brings joy and play to make-up."

On dark skin, orange blush will create a sun tan effect, while purple blush will give a berry hue. For fair skin, orange on the cheeks and tip of the nose will give a slight "beach" effect - as if you've just returned from holiday.

Doll make-up is trend #1 🎀

From Ariana Grande to Sabrina Carpenter, pop stars are setting the tone: doll make-up is more in vogue than ever. The secret? Bright, almost chewy pink shades like Artist Blush in MAKE UP FOR EVER's Daring Candy colour, applied directly to the apples of the cheeks.

"It's a quick and fun alternative to complicated contouring," says Douyos. "Doll blush instantly refreshes the look."

Back to the '80s: draping ✨

And for those who want more, '80s-style makeup is back in style. The "draping" technique involves spreading blush from cheekbones to temples and even on the eyelids - like light coloured shadows.

Although it looks spectacular, the technique is quick: it's important to choose bright, well-growing blushes for a soft gradient. This look instantly adds to the "I've just come from a cover shoot" mood.

The cardinal rule of 2025? Experiment! 🎉

When picking up blush, you can target the colour of your lips internally - for a natural effect. But Douyos reminds us:

"Colour is a form of self-expression. Don't be afraid to choose something that pleases you specifically."
