In temporarily occupied Mariupol, a Christmas tree has been put up near the Drama Theatre, the place where the Russians killed hundreds of civilians at the beginning of the full-scale war.

The Mariupol city council wrote about it in Telegram.

At the beginning of the full-scale war, civilians, in particular families with children, hid in the building from shelling.

on 16 March 2022, instead of a New Year's tree near Mariupol Dram Theatre, the word "CHILDREN" in Russian was put up, which could be read from the sky. This did not stop the Russian military from continuing to drop bombs on the building, killing Ukrainian civilians and children. There is still no exact data on the number of people killed in the Drama Theatre.

Today the occupants, trying to erase the traces of their war crimes, are installing the Main (bloody) Christmas tree near the theatre. The Mariupol City Council states that children do not honour the memory of their dead peers, but dance and dance near the place of mass death of people.

According to the city authorities, the Russians plan to officially open the theatre season at the Mariupol Drama Theatre by the end of 2025. The season will start with Russian productions of "Scarlet Flower" and "The Empress' Favourite".

In fact, they will play on the blood of murdered people, - concludes Mariupol city council.

As is known, on 16 March 2022, Russia committed one of the large-scale war crimes in Ukraine. On that day, a Russian plane dropped two super-powerful (presumably 500-kilogram) bombs on the building of the Mariupol Drama Theatre. The killers were not stopped by the large inscription "Children" on the square in front of the building. The result was the deaths of hundreds of civilians (various estimates range from 300 to 600) who had sought refuge there, hoping that the theatre would never be targeted.
