Air defence forces shot down all cruise missiles that attacked Kyiv overnight

Russian troops attacked Kyiv from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft on 8 December. The air defence destroyed all the missiles on the approach to the city. This was reported by the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Serhiy Popko.

After a long pause of 79 days, the enemy resumed strikes with cruise missiles from the boards of strategic aviation Tu-95MS, - stated in the message.

It is preliminarily known that about 10 bombers-missile carriers fired cruise missiles of the Kh-101/555/55 type from the area of the city of Engels, Saratov region of the Russian Federation.

The air alert in the capital lasted almost 2 hours. Not a single enemy missile reached the capital. The air defence forces destroyed all missiles on the approach to Kyiv.

There is no information about casualties and destruction. The enemy has again begun to use strategic aviation to attack peaceful cities.
