The main emphasis was on the need to strengthen air defence and obtain long-range weapons.
During his visit to Washington, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has informed US President Donald Trump in detail about the situation on the frontline, the consequences of Russian missile strikes on the energy system and the country's main defence needs. This was told by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Olga Stefanyshina in Telegram.
The Ukrainian ambassador to the USA said that the main emphasis during the meeting of the leaders was placed on the need to strengthen air defence and the supply of long-range weapons. According to her, the presidents agreed that the USA, together with its European partners, should play a key role in ensuring Ukraine's security and increase pressure on Russia to end the war as soon as possible.
During the visit, Zelensky held a number of important meetings, including talks with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and representatives of leading energy companies. They discussed supplies of US liquefied gas, development of nuclear energy and modernisation of the Ukrainian energy system.
