AFU captured several DPRK soldiers: Zelensky asks China to influence Pyongyang

The Ukrainian defence forces managed to capture several North Korean servicemen, but they died of their wounds on the battlefield. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address, citing a report by AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy during a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Stavka.
Fighting continues in the Donetsk direction, in Zaporizhzhya, Kherson and Kharkiv regions, as well as in Kursk Region. The President noted that the enemy is suffering significant losses, especially among North Korean servicemen.
Zelensky said that the Russian military and North Korean commanders are not interested in the survival of DPRK soldiers:
They are being finished off by their own. There are such facts. And the Russians send them into assaults so that they have a minimum of defence. Today there were reports of several soldiers from North Korea. Our soldiers managed to capture them. But they were very badly wounded and could not be resuscitated. This is one of the manifestations of the madness that dictatorships are capable of.
The president also said that China, if it is sincere in its stance that war should not be expanded, can influence Pyongyang's actions.
North Korea has sent about 11,000 soldiers and weapons to Russia. In return, Kim Jong-un has received billions of dollars worth of food, oil, cash and advanced weapons from Vladimir Putin. This greatly strengthens the North Korean regime despite international sanctions.
