A woman died in Kyiv on New Year's Eve from Russian shelling


On the morning of 1 January, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 111 Shaheds. A house in Kiev's Pecherskyy district suffered damage, two upper floors were destroyed there.
According to the capital's mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, rescuers are unblocking the body of a dead woman under the rubble of the damaged house.
Also, the roof of the National Bank building caught fire due to falling debris in Pecherskyy district of Kiev. There are no casualties. Windows on the upper floors were damaged.
All operating systems and services of the National Bank are functioning in full, without changes, - say the NBU.


Russia, even on New Year's Eve, was only concerned with hurting Ukraine. One hundred and eleven attack drones against our cities. Most of them failed to reach their targets thanks to our air defences, our mobile fire teams and our REB systems. But unfortunately, one casualty is known at this time. My condolences to the family and friends. There are also casualties and destruction. All services are involved," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.


In addition, in Svyatoshynskyi district, tram tracks were damaged 100 metres away from the tram depot. Also, as a result of falling debris, windows in a residential building near the garages where the fire occurred were broken out.
A total of six people were injured as a result of the enemy attack on the capital. Two of them have now been hospitalised. Four medics rendered assistance on the spot. In particular, a pregnant woman.
