A Ukrainian who defected to the enemy army has been convicted


A resident of Luhansk region, who voluntarily joined the enemy army and became a gunner for the NZF rf, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. The man was captured in the Bakhmut district.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, a resident of Luhansk Region voluntarily joined an illegal armed formation of the "people's militia" of the terrorist organisation LNR.
The man received a military uniform, weapons and was assigned to the personnel of the 208 regiment as a gunner. The accused performed the duties of arrangement and strengthening of firing positions and trenches of the army of the Russian armed forces for combat, was engaged in the construction of dugouts, - reported in the office of the Prosecutor General.
In addition, he guarded the territory. Muchina was captured in July 2023, he was detained in Bakhmut district.
In Lviv, the court found the resident of Lugansk region guilty of high treason, participation in a terrorist organisation and activity of armed formations not provided by law (part 1, 2 of article 111, part 1 of article 258-3, part 2 of article 260 of the Criminal code of Ukraine).
Theconvict will spend 15 years behind bars and his property will be confiscated.
