A star of Russian TV series about police was killed on the frontline in Ukraine


Russian actor Vadim Alferov, familiar to viewers for his roles in the popular TV series "Streets of Broken Lanterns", "Killing Force" and "Secrets of the Investigation", has died during Russia's war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Russian media with reference to data from the military enlistment office.
Alferov was 50 years old. His death was officially confirmed only a few months after his disappearance. According to the portal "Kino-Theatre", the actor signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in October 2024 and was sent to a motorised rifle regiment stationed in the Kursk region. According to a friend of the deceased, earlier Alferov tried to get to the front as a volunteer, but he was not allowed to participate in combat operations due to lack of military experience. Nevertheless, after signing a contract, he found himself on the front line, where he received the call sign "Artist".
A month after the start of service, during a combat mission near the town of Suja, the actor went missing. Only in May 2025 his body was identified, and on 19 May he was buried in the South Cemetery of St. Petersburg.
Vadim Alferov was born on 7 July 1974 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. He graduated from the Far Eastern State Institute of Arts, after which he moved to St. Petersburg, where he worked at the Children's Drama Theatre "On the Neva". Since the early 2000s, he has been actively acting in films and television, performing cameo and minor roles in dozens of Russian projects, including "Mentov's Wars", "Russian Amazons", "Sea Devils" and others. His last screen work - participation in the fourth season of the series "First Department", which came out shortly before he was sent to the service.
The actor rarely shared details of his personal life. It is only known that he still has a spouse named Love.
