210th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's birth: Ukraine sets poetic record

Today, 9 March 2024, marks 210 years since the birth of the great Ukrainian writer, artist and public figure Taras Shevchenko. In Borodyanka, Kyiv region set a national record for the longest public recitation of Shevchenko's poems. This is reported by Suspilne.

The marathon recitation of the poet's works was held near the Shevchenko monument damaged by Russian troops. For more than four hours in a row poems of Kobzar were read by local creative teams, schoolchildren and representatives of communities.

Military personnel also joined the poetry marathon. In particular, the actor and now defender of Ukraine Dmytro Linartovych.

More than a hundred people expressed their desire to take part in the flash mob. After the reading, the record was fixed with the participation of the expert commission of the project "Book of Records of Ukraine" on the longest public recitation of Taras Shevchenko's poems," the report said.

Taras Shevchenko was a talented artist. He wrote more than 1300 paintings, of which more than 800 have survived to our time.
