ZSU keeps a zone of control in the Kursk region
So far, no one understands what is happening in Kursk region and what the purpose of the raid is
The ZSU is successfully operating in the Kursk region and expanding its zone of influence. In addition, there are reports of captured Russian military personnel who are literally surrendering entire units. As of today, we already know of 50 Russian military personnel who have themselves surrendered to the ZSU.
Since there are no official reports from the ZSU at the moment, the network is trying to understand the purpose of the operation. We have collected some of the opinions.
- Since the enemy was planning an offensive on Kharkiv-Sumy, the ZSU disrupted this operation by invading the Kursk region in order not to repeat the situation with Volchansk in the Kharkiv region
- To demonstrate to the allies that there is no danger of Russia using nuclear weapons even if it invades Russian territory.
- There are several important infrastructure and logistical facilities in Kursk Oblast that are important for supplying the Russian army in the Kharkiv direction. Their destruction or damage could make it difficult for the Russians to conduct combat operations in Kharkiv Oblast.
- The difficult situation in Donetsk region, where the Russians are pressurised by infantry masses and KABs, forces the ZSU to look for an asymmetric response to fight a stronger enemy. The Kursk operation, where the ZSU operates in small mobile groups in forested areas, is a good way to relieve the tension at Pokrovsk, forcing the Russians to withdraw some troops from Ukraine and spread their resources over a large section of the front.
We will continue to follow the ZSU offensive in Kursk Oblast.
