A resident of Dnipropetrovsk region "leaked" AFU positions to a Russian soldier's son
The SBU has exposed a traitor to Ukraine who had been informing the enemy about the location of Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
It transpired that the previously convicted resident of Marhanets had been correcting Russian fire on Dnipropetrovsk Region.
It was on his "tip-off" that the occupants tried to hit the region's infrastructure at the beginning of last summer. However, the Ukrainian air defence forces shot down all the enemy missiles," the report said.
According to the investigation, the collaborator began his activities in March last year after leaving a penal colony, where he was "serving a sentence for causing grievous bodily harm".
The intruder collected data on the location and movement of the AFU.
First and foremost, he tried to identify the positions of the Ukrainian S-300 surface-to-air missile systems. He passed the obtained information to his son, who was a member of the Russian occupation groups," the SBU added.
According to the collected evidence, the perpetrator was found guilty of treason and sentenced to 15 years behind bars. As the convict has an unexpunged criminal record, he will spend 18 years in captivity.
