Zelensky commented on the draft law on mobilisation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that there should be a public discussion of the draft law on mobilisation before the final text of the law appears. Zelenskyy said this in his video message.

The President noted that Ukrainians should understand the vision of the military command and how people's deputies propose to solve the issues arising in the Defence Forces.

Today the discussion on new rules of mobilisation has started... It will be right that such rules are discussed and adopted not behind the scenes, but so that people understand what vision the military command has, what are the motives behind these or those rules and requirements proposed by MPs and how the issues that our soldiers already have in the Defence Forces are solved," Zelenskyy said.

The President stressed that "the law is something that concerns everybody and everyone in the state."

It will be right for the military together with the deputies to determine on the basis of the Verkhovna Rada committee how exactly the next year should be provided for our Defence Forces at the legislative level. We are waiting for the final text of the law," he said.

We shall remind you that on 25 December, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill to improve certain issues of mobilisation, military registration and military service.
