Zelensky called for a tough reaction of the world to the decision of the Russian Federation
The Russian Federation said that Russia was withdrawing from the grain deal after the "attacks" on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that "a bunch of people" in the Kremlin should not decide whether grain corridors for the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian seaports will continue to work or not, and the UN and the G20 should show the Kremlin in its place. At the same time, Zelensky called the Russian Federation’s statement about the failure of the grain export initiative predictable and called on the world to react harshly. He stressed that Moscow began to aggravate the food crisis in September.
Specifically, the President said:
From September to the present day, 176 ships have accumulated in the grain corridor, which cannot pass along their route. This is food for more than seven million consumers. Some grain carriers have been waiting for more than three weeks. And because of the next exacerbation, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Bangladesh, Vietnam and other countries may suffer.
As the president stressed, a tough international response is now required. He added:
Ukraine has been and can continue to be one of the guarantors of global food security. Russian terror and blackmail must lose. Mankind must win
The head of state also recalled that during the period of the grain agreement, Russia at least twice struck at the naval forces of Ukraine, which guarantee the security of the grain corridor.
Recall, the Russian side announced that it was withdrawing from the grain deal after the alleged Ukrainian attack on the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
Volodymyr Zelensky's spokesman, Serhiy Nikiforov, said that Ukraine is waiting for the reaction of Turkey and the UN regarding this statement by the Russian Federation. They are the parties to the grain agreement, which was also signed by Russia.
