Western countries support the idea of a peace summit.

This was reported by the Ukrainian president's office

During an evening conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Joseph Biden, the Ukrainian president put forward an initiative to convene a global peace summit.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Ukraine wanted to achieve peace and stressed the importance of consolidating international efforts to achieve this goal. To this end, during the G20 summit the Ukrainian president presented a peace formula, which included ten critical steps which, if implemented, would allow stopping the war. The Ukrainian president outlined the Ukrainian side's vision for further work in this important direction and took the initiative to convene a global peace summit.

During his conversation with Biden, Zelensky also thanked for another defence aid package and for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and leadership in consolidating international efforts to counter Russian aggression.

Later in his video address, following his conversation with Biden, Zelensky stressed that the Ukrainian peace formula was perceived positively by Western countries. And that work on a global peace summit had already started.
