Wizz Air will issue 10,000 tickets to Ukrainian refugees in the UK. Travel Weekly writes about it.
It is reported that refugees from Ukraine who left for neighboring countries - Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia will get access to tickets. In total, tickets can be obtained on 61 routes from different cities. Refugees can take one piece of luggage and one piece of hand luggage with them free of charge.
It will be possible to fly within a month - from May 14 to June 15.
It is already known that the first passengers of evacuation flights will arrive from Krakow and Warsaw at Luton Airport.
The main goal of this initiative is to provide Ukrainian refugees with free travel during this time of crisis, as well as to support the UK government's Homes for Ukraine visa scheme, the low-cost airline said in a statement.
To date, 37,000 Ukrainian refugees have already arrived in the UK under the scheme for providing housing by local residents, and a total of 95,000 visas have been issued. Ukrainians apply to consulates in European cities for obtaining British visas.
