Ukrainian police have confirmed that a Russian drone attack on the capital's Darnitsky district overnight injured five people, among them a young child.

In the Darnytskyi district of Kiev five victims of the attack of UAVs, among them a two-year-old girl. The police fixes the consequences of the attack, - stated in the message.

Damage and injuries

According to the police, the blast wave from the "Shaheds" blew out the windows on the 6-11 floors of one of the residential buildings. All the victims suffered shrapnel wounds. A child was diagnosed with cut wounds to the foot. All the victims were hospitalised.

In addition, the impact damaged several cars parked in the courtyard of the building. At the scene of the incident are working investigative and operational teams of the police, explosion experts, as well as employees of the State Emergency Situations Service, eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Russia attacked Ukraine on the night of 28 July, launching Shahed-type kamikaze drones and missiles across the country. Explosions in Kiev began to sound in the evening. In the Darnitsky district, the blast hit the residential sector.

According to the Kiev OVA, the number of injured was initially estimated at eight people, but the capital's mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported five wounded.
