Whether Kharkov is threatened with a second offensive by the Russians
The Kharkiv region and the city itself is a principal target for the occupying troops, so the Russians may again try to advance on Kharkov.
This was stated by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Sinegubov in an interview with RBC-Ukraine .
Since February 24, in fact, since the beginning of the massive aggression and invasion of the territory of the Kharkov region, the city of Kharkov and the Kharkov region have been fundamentally important for the enemy. Therefore, to say that Russia has abandoned attempts to take and counterattack Kharkov or other settlements in the region, of course, is impossible,” Sinegubov said.
According to him, Kharkov and the region are ready for a possible new offensive. But the Nanari do not see enough strength in the enemy.
We understand that in order to attack Kharkov by infidels, you need to have a lot of forces and means ... I don’t see such a large amount of military resources in order to attack Kharkov now. That is, we do not have such information. What will happen in a week - we monitor and control the situation, - added Sinegubov.
Now the enemy is trying to break through our defensive lines. However, he suffers losses and retreats to the positions he previously occupied.
We have not surrendered a single meter of our territory, recaptured during the counter-offensive back in May 2022. Our armed forces are focused on holding their positions and inflicting maximum defeat on the enemy. This is what happens to us almost every day. We don't have quiet days. On all lines of confrontation, we are engaged in active combat operations. This is in the northern, northeastern direction, as well as in the Izyum direction, the head of the Kharkiv OVA noted.
At the same time, according to Sinegubov, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have successes in the Kharkiv region, but not everything can be voiced so as not to disrupt operations.
Among the successes of our Armed Forces is the fact that we are holding Barvenkovo. In the vicinity of this city, hostilities are underway. And the fact that we do not let the enemy through is already a very significant result, because such deterrence costs him very dearly. The aggressor suffers very significant losses there in terms of manpower, equipment, and aviation, he stressed.
