What will force Russia to compromise in the war
The Kremlin shows no signs that it is ready to make real concessions or find compromise solutions to the war against Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The Institute for the Study of War continues to assess the fact that the United States and Europe have so far failed to refute Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's "victory theory".
According to the analysts, the United States and European partners may change the Russian Federation's strategic calculation.
To force Moscow to make concessions, it is necessary to apply additional pressure mechanisms.
Strengthening Ukraine's military capabilities, sanctions and seizure of foreign Russian assets, and limiting Russia's access to resources to support its long-term military efforts are necessary," the ISW report said.
Russia continues to pursue a strategy aimed at completely depleting Ukraine before possible negotiations. According to analysts, the occupiers aim to divide Ukraine's energy system into isolated "islands" to cause a prolonged blackout in key regions and paralyse the AFU's logistics.
In parallel with the energy terror, the Kremlin is playing a complex political game in the international arena. In particular, Moscow is trying to force the Donald Trump administration to withdraw its support for Ukraine by issuing ultimatums that actually demand Kiev's surrender.
Russia is using the threat of complete destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure as leverage to induce Washington to cut off military aid and recognise the occupied territories as Russian.
Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War said that the Russian military command has now begun the process of optimising its forces, preparing for a long period of positional warfare.
Instead of trying to quickly break through the front, the aggressor is concentrating on depleting Ukrainian defensive capabilities and consolidating on the already captured borders.
