Water in Kherson region begins to recede - minus 20 cm overnight
2,352 people and about 550 animals have been evacuated from Kherson oblast.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Oblast OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin, on his Telegram.
According to him, the water level in Kherson region is finally starting to drop. Overnight the water dropped by about 20 cm. Evacuation of people and animals continues.
On the operational situation: on average on the right bank the water is holding at 5.38 m, on Kherson - 5.35 m. Already we can see that the water dropped by 20 cm overnight. As of this morning, 3 624 houses in 32 settlements of Kherson region are flooded. In the morning 2 352 people were evacuated. We are rescuing smaller friends - about 550 animals have been evacuated.
The Kherson OVA also warned that volunteers with boats should refrain from travelling to Kherson for the time being. This is because the Russians continue to shell Kherson - the security situation has deteriorated.
We will report separately if there is a need for such assistance! There are now enough forces to rescue people and animals from the flooded areas.
