Visas to Bulgaria for Russians will rise significantly
Bulgaria will abolish visa fee exemptions enjoyed by Russians.
In order to obtain a visa to Bulgaria, Russians will have to pay 80 euros, not 35 as before. According to the Anadolu agency, this was said by the Minister of Tourism of the country Ilin Dimitrov.
Sofia will also abolish various visa fee benefits that Russians actively used to obtain permission to enter the country.
Dimitrov noted that it was not possible to completely ban Russians from entering Bulgaria, but "they will pay more."
This is the decision of the EU and we will have to comply with it, Dimitrov said.
He added that although direct flights between the two countries were suspended after the outbreak of Russia's war against Ukraine, more than 60,000 Russian citizens have already visited Bulgaria this year.
We add that Bulgaria has joined and complies with the EU sanctions against Russia, helping to repair Ukrainian weapons.
