There are 42,000 women serving in the Armed Forces - Malyar
Now 42,000 women are defending Ukraine in the armed forces.
The deputy head of the Defence Ministry, Anna Malyar, wrote this in her Telegram.
Today there are 42,000 servicewomen in the Armed Forces, and together with civilian workers there are 60,000. Of these, 5,000 are at the front line. Unfortunately, 107 women have been killed and wounded. Ukrainian women in the ranks defend the state just as much as men," she wrote.
However, Malyar noted that equality does not only apply to women, but also to men. She drew attention to the problem of mobilization of men who are single-handedly raising children.
We have men who are bringing up children alone by court order, but at the same time are subject to mobilization. But, in fact, there are a lot of questions now. It is important that there is a strong team that is ready to work with this," the deputy defence minister added.
Earlier we reported that about 3.8 thousand women are serving in the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Army alone. At the same time, the number of women in the army began to increase in 2014.
