AFU explains why drones launched by Russia are not shot down as they move along Dnieper

"Ukrainian Truth

In the last two attacks, the drones were shot down on approach to Kiev.

Yuriy Ignat, head of public relations at the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Air Force, told Ukrainian Radio why drones are not shot down while moving along the Dnieper River:

Because radar-wise they become less visible - closer to the ground. You want to live, you stick lower. The radar antenna that detects the target will not see it if the target is flying below the level of the antenna.

Ignat also said that during the last two drone attacks on the capital, some of the "shahers" were shot down by fighters, and most were destroyed on the outskirts of Kiev.

Ignat noted that of the new batch of drones, the Russian Federation has half of them left:

The information is tentative. If you consider that the new batch came in at 250 and there have already been several strikes since then, half of the drones have already been used and shot down by our air defence.
