16 Chernihiv defenders returned to Ukraine from captivity
the 16 residents of Chernihiv Region who had been held captive were exchanged on 11 June.
This was reported by Suspilne with reference to military unit 3041 of the National Guard of Ukraine.
As a result of the release 16 defenders who were previously held captive at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (ChNPP) have been returned from captivity. However there are still over 100 National Guardsmen from Chernihiv Region in Russian captivity.
Earlier on 11 June, Ukraine successfully returned 95 Ukrainian defenders from Russian captivity. Among them are 51 representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (including 15 territorial defence officers), 29 National Guard officers, 11 border guards and four military sailors. All those released are men, including two officers, while the rest are soldiers and sergeants.
