The minimum wage in Ukraine will increase, but not from October 1, as previously announced.

The minimum wage increase will occur only two months later - on December 1, 2022. According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the war has made adjustments.

Wages will increase by 200 hryvnia - from 6.5 thousand hryvnias to 6.7 thousand hryvnias.

Next year we plan to fulfill all our social obligations. The minimum wage, as planned, will increase in December to 6.7 thousand hryvnias and will be stable over the next year, the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.

From January 1, 2023, the minimum wage will be UAH 6.7 thousand, and the cost of living - will be UAH 2.6 thousand.

Unfortunately, there are no positive prerequisites for the future, so it would be possible to raise the minimum wage next year. Meanwhile, pensions will be indexed from March 1, 2023,” Denys Shmyhal said.

Recall that earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft budget of Ukraine for 2023, with record defense spending; now, it is sent for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada.
