Dynamo won 2-1, but Dynamo head coach Mircea Lucescu refused to attend the traditional press conference after the match. He told reporters that the sports community could not accept such fan behavior.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey condemned the behavior of Turkish fans. Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar said he was deeply upset by the incident. The leadership of Fenerbahce, in turn, disowned the actions of the fans. UEFA launched an investigation into the chants of Turkish fans.
We once again recall our official position, which is that sport should remain out of politics, the club said.
The incident caused a storm of indignation on social networks; some even demanded that the Turkish team was excluded from European competitions.
