Russia criticised the Russian Defence Ministry's so-called "operation of retaliation"

The Russian defence ministry has been criticised for inventing all sorts of "retaliation operations".

This was reported by analysts of the ISW Institute for the Study of War.

The Russian Defence Ministry said that the military conducted a so-called "retaliation operation" against Ukrainian troops for the 31 December strike on Makiivka. It is worth recalling that up to 400 Russian mobilized troops were killed in Makiivka. This happened due to mistakes of the Russian command and poor personnel dispersal practices.

The Russians began to publish in official reports that in response to the strike on Makiivka, they launched strikes on Kramatorsk. As a result, over 600 Ukrainian servicemen were killed. Such statements were not met with support in the Russian media space.

On the contrary, several Russian military bloggers reacted negatively to the MoD's statement and criticized the military leadership for continuing to fabricate fakes instead of holding the Russian leadership accountable for its losses.

The Ministry of Defence has once again been the target of criticism, which is already a continuing trend.
